Massage therapist, business owner LMBT#20778

Apprenticeship-style education found me promptly after I left the wooded lake region of northern New Jersey as a young man. I was immersed in the world of indigenous folk medicines — especially those rooted in the traditions of Peru and China — and these teachings have informed every step of my life since.

I’ve been studying and practicing massage and bodywork for over 15 years. My early focus was on Shiatsu, woven with Thai-influenced stretching and deepened by four years of collaborative training with classical and Japanese acupuncturists in classroom and clinical settings. Through this foundation, I began to understand the body’s ability to heal through the lens of qi, the Japanese word for energy. I witnessed how holding points — and in my mentors’ hands, needles — could catalyze profound changes in vitality and freedom.

As I sought to expand my perspective, I pursued additional formal education in bodywork across Western North Carolina and Vermont. These studies enriched my understanding of kinetic chains and brought me back to the table with a renewed focus on specific, resolution-based massage — particularly in the ancient mountains of Southern Appalachia, which I now call home.

Beyond my bodywork practice, I am a ceremonialist rooted in traditional folk medicine. My days often include Taoist cultivation practices, cold water plunges, kettlebell training, Systema (a Russian martial art), and sipping gongfu tea. I’m passionate about raw, medicinal foods and aspire to bring more land-based nourishment into the healing spaces I share. I believe deeply in the wisdom of the body and the land — and I look forward to what they’ll offer you, both during and beyond our sessions.
